NewsBLITZ: MUSIC FESTIVAL SEASON IS UPON US!

Europe used to be the only place to go to see daylong music festivals featuring a whole bunch of your favorite artists. The U.S. is finally catching up. And here are a couple of rock festivals MusikBLITZ suggests you check out this May:

THE BAMBOOZLE
Where:
Meadowlands Sports Complex—East Rutherford, NJ

May 2-3, 2009
Artists Performing:
Bayside, Billy Talent, Cobra Starship, Fall Out Boy, Gwar, Demi Lovato, Metro Station, New Found Glory, No Doubt, Gavin Rossdale, Sum 41, Taking Back Sunday, Third Eye Blind + more
Notes:
The Bamboozle promises “over 200 of the most talked about bands in pop, punk, mainstream, emo and more” on 10 stages during its 2-day festival.

ROCK ON THE RANGE

Where:
Crew Stadium—Columbus, Ohio
When:
May 16-17, 2009
Artists Performing:
Alice In Chains, Atreyu, Avenged Sevenfold, Black Stone Cherry, Buckcherry, Flyleaf, Hoobastank, Korn, Mötley Crüe, Saliva, Saving Abel, Shinedown, Slipknot, Static-X, Trapt, The Used + more
Notes:
For the third year in a row, more than 35 acts will don the multiple stages at this 2-day rock spectacular. “Being asked to headline Rock On The Range is an absolute pleasure,” says Slipknot singer Corey Taylor. “The lineup looks great; the shows look fantastic. And I, personally, think it will be an absolute blast for everyone.” Adds Mötley Crüe bass player Nikki Sixx: “We’re really excited to play one of America’s great rock festivals.”

M3 ROCK FESTIVAL

Merriweather Post Pavilion—Columbia, MD

Notes:
This all day festival, presented by radio station 98 Rock, features some of the finest bands from the ’80s and promises “10 hours of music, wicked booths and attractions and a whole lotta hair.”
